A fast-growing consulting firm based in Australia is hiring its first Market Development Manager.

We help mid-market businesses ($10M to $100M revenue) get past a problem most cannot yet name: the coordination cost. Every business runs on decisions, handoffs, and workflows that connect people to systems. As businesses scale, the coordination overhead between systems multiplies, and growth runs into the ceiling that overhead creates. AI changes this, but only when the underlying GTM systems are built right.

That is what we do. We build the intelligence layer above the GTM systems mid-market businesses already use, so the systems reason together rather than each doing its job in isolation. Our delivery is built on Anthropic's Claude. We run our own go-to-market operations on the same architecture we build for clients: that internal deployment is the proof point that carries every external claim.

Why this role exists. Australian mid-market businesses know their systems are not working as one. Many have tried AI on their own and watched it stall. The firms that build the intelligence layer above their GTM systems in the next 12 to 18 months will operate at a level their competitors cannot replicate by starting later. This role primes that market.

What you will do:

  • Build awareness for the firm's GTM-and-AI work across our four target verticals: financial services, manufacturing, construction, and healthcare
  • Form strategic partnerships with complementary firms, industry bodies, and HubSpot
  • Lead the firm's education effort: webinars, paid seminars, podcast guesting, roundtables, and events that put the firm's vocabulary into the market
  • Generate inbound enquiry signals through thought leadership and targeted outreach
  • Map our target-vertical ecosystems: who buys, who influences, what triggers action
  • Work directly with the Director of Growth and a Strategy Consultant to shape the go-to-market motion

What you will not do. Close deals (that is the leadership team). Deliver projects (that is the consulting team). Hand off and walk away. We stay. Every engagement runs as a lifecycle, because AI systems behave like organic beings and need continuous stewardship.

Who you are:

  • You understand AI at a conceptual level and use it daily. You do not need to write code, but you can articulate what AI does for a business in plain language, and you can engage productively with people who carry wrong assumptions about AI or have lived through a failed implementation.
  • You thrive in ambiguity. You have built something from scratch before, whether that is a market, a territory, a function, or a business.
  • You sell outcomes, not features. You can hold a strategic conversation with a CEO, founder, COO, CFO, or Chief Growth Officer about operational efficiency without reaching for a product demo.
  • You have relationships in one or more of our four target verticals (financial services, manufacturing, construction, or healthcare), or the credibility and instinct to build them quickly.
  • You create content naturally: a LinkedIn post, a talk at a roundtable, a co-authored insight piece. Market-building requires a voice, not just a pipeline.
