Melbourne bases, remote position, 2 year fixed-term contractThe Job
- The position is a dual role encompassing Payroll Operations and HR Generalist responsibilities for Australia and New Zealand.
- The role reports to the Manager, HR Operations for ANZ&SEA and is part of the APAC HR Service Delivery team.
- The primary objective is to provide support to internal customers across various processes in both countries.
Payroll Operations Responsibilities:
- Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll cycles by providing complete and accurate data to the in-country payroll provider.
- Addressing escalated Tier 3 payroll inquiries and communicating resolutions to the HR Operations (HRO) supplier and in-country payroll provider.
- Managing escalated Workday AMS or Data Management payroll tickets, including triage, information gathering, and resolution or escalation to the Workday AMS provider.
- Coordinating with operational counterparts within the HRO supplier organization.
- Providing input and participating in educating process users on new and updated payroll processes.
- Collaborating with technology vendors, in-country payroll provider, and HRO suppliers to resolve specific payroll issues.
- Responsible to Perform Payroll related Year End activities related
- Support Statutory reporting requirements
- Performing functional testing in systems such as Workday.
- Manage Payroll Systems and Payroll vendors
- Participating in root cause analysis efforts for payroll-related performance deficiencies.
HR Generalist Responsibilities:
- Handling escalated queries from Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams.
- Executing and supporting Centre of Excellence (CoE) programs and new changes.
- Executing annual CoE cycles, including merit/bonus, benefits, talent management, goal setting, and employee engagement surveys.
- Liaising with people leaders to update data in systems following compensation data audits.
- Executing orientation/onboarding activities as per Talent CoE strategy.
- Advising people leaders on processes related to promotions, salary administration, and out-of-cycle merit increases.
- Providing training to people leaders on processes and soft skills, either directly or via train-the-trainer sessions.
- Supporting and advising people leaders on onboarding and end-of-probation reviews.
- Assisting the HR/ER Manager with mergers and acquisitions (M&A) initiatives and due diligence programs.
- Assisting with managing employee relations cases under the guidance of the HR/ER Manager
- Assisting the ER/Manager with Enterprise Agreement administration, e.g. meeting notes, lodgment with Fair Work Australia, etc.
- Providing reports at the request of HR Business Partners, People Advisors, and Business Leaders.
The Person
- Tertiary qualifications in HR is preferred
- 8+ years progressive experience in HR with strong functional knowledge
- 2+ years working in a regional HR Shared Services organization is a plus
- Knowledge of Workday & exposure to ServiceNow as HR Case Management tool is a plus
- High degree of integrity and professionalism
- Exceptional eye for detail and ability to prioritise given dual role and potentially conflicting priorities
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build strong partnerships with key stakeholders in a complex, multi-supplier and matrixed environment
- Curious; proactively ask questions about wider context in order to understand where to provide most business value; taking our customers to where they ought to be, not where they want to be
- Being courageous when we need to push back and say NO, or pull them to lead them to a different place
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced situations that require sound decision making
