Graduate / Junior Software Engineer (.NET)

Jigsaw Finance is the UK's fastest growing motor finance broker. Founded in 2000, Jigsaw Finance is now under new ownership and the business is growing quickly.

All of Jigsaw Finance’s systems and services are developed and maintained in-house. As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining our existing, mature systems while also contributing to new projects currently in the pipeline.

Our software is used by internal teams, external dealerships, and end customers, offering a wide variety of technical challenges and learning opportunities. Systems you may work on include:

• Internal Proposal Management System
• Lender integrations (direct integrations with over 40 funders)
• Dealer calculators
• Dealer portal
• And more

Due to the size of the engineering team, this role involves working closely with colleagues outside of the technical function to help diagnose and resolve system-related issues.

You will be joining an established development team and will report directly to the Head of Engineering.

We are looking for either:

• A recent graduate with a software-related degree (2:1 or higher), or
• Someone with equivalent qualifications or a relevant apprenticeship

Required Technical Experience

• C# / .NET
• Entity Framework
• Git
• Web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL / T-SQL
• Some experience integrating with APIs and a foundational understanding of RESTful architecture
• Understanding of SOLID principles

Preferred Experience

• Angular or other modern JavaScript frameworks
• Tailwind CSS
• ASP.NET MVC 5
• Microsoft Azure
• Azure DevOps or other CI/CD tools

Location & Working Pattern

Jigsaw Finance has offices in Stoke-on-Trent, Macclesfield, and Manchester. While this role is fully remote, occasional visits to one of our offices may be required.
