Qualitative Researcher (Online Community & TikTok Comment Analysis)

Description:

Our company founder runs a TikTok channel (@growingwithleong) with an unusually pro-social and emotionally intelligent community of commenters. I’m seeking a skilled qualitative researcher or social analyst to produce a concise report (approx. 5–10 pages) that explains what makes this community unique, using credible research methods and clear professional language.

The goal is to identify the patterns behind empathy, reflection, and mutual support in the comments, and to create findings that can guide day-to-day community management and be shared with collaborators and partners for future initiatives promoting positive patterns of discourse.

The project involves:

• Analysing a dataset of TikTok comments (export provided)

• Conducting qualitative coding of themes and discourse patterns

• Applying light quantitative or sentiment analysis (tone, engagement ratios)

• Producing a short, polished PDF report with methodology, coded findings, visuals, and anonymised quotes

Ideal candidate:

• Background in social research, media/communications, psychology, or related field

• Experience coding qualitative text or analysing online communities

• Clear, professional writing style; balance of warmth and methodological rigour

• Familiarity with tools such as NVivo, Atlas.ti, or text-analysis software is a plus

Deliverable:

A 5–10 page professional report (PDF) summarising analysis of TikTok comments, with clear sections: methodology, findings, visuals, and conclusions.
