Microburbs.com.au is a high-growth Australian proptech company that helps investors and homebuyers make smarter property decisions with data.

We’ve been growing 10% month-on-month for 15 months, and we’re still just getting started. Tens of thousands of investors use our insights every month.

Our founder Luke Metcalfe is a veteran data scientist who has previously built and sold two data companies - both focused on democratising access to complex information.

You’ll work closely with Luke and a small, high-performance team across engineering, AI, data science, marketing and product.

What You’ll Do

This isn’t a traditional dev role. You’ll wear many hats — sometimes in the same day.

Depending on your strengths, you might:

• Build and ship new product features end-to-end using Python, Flask, Webflow and modern frontend tools
• Automate data flows and build internal tools to make the team faster
• Work with AI APIs (OpenAI, Claude, etc.) to prototype smart user-facing features
• Analyse real estate and economic data
• Design, UX and interfaces
• Contribute to growth - e.g., by improving UX, conversion funnels, or analytics instrumentation

You’ll often have autonomy to identify problems and the trust to solve them your way.

Who You Are

• You’ve built things that work - whether side projects, startups, or internal tools
• You’re excited to learn whatever tech gets the job done
• You think in systems and can connect technical decisions to user impact
• You can prioritise, move fast, and clean up as you go
• You’d rather ship something 90% perfect today than 100% next month
• Python coding experience 

Nice-to-Haves

• Flask 
• Pandas, Jupyter, or data analysis
• JavaScript/HTML (basic frontend or Webflow embedding)
• SQL / Postgres 
• Linux familiarity (systemctl, cron, logs)
• AI integration experience (OpenAI API, etc.)
