Job Title: Business Development / Surety BrokerJob Role & Responsibilities:

1.          Business Development: Drive business growth by identifying potential clients, industries, and markets that align with the company's objectives. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients.

2.          Client Consultation: Engage with potential and existing clients to understand their surety bond requirements, business objectives, and risk profiles. Provide expert advice on appropriate surety solutions and foster long-

term client relationships.

3.          Surety Bond Placement: Collaborate with underwriters to secure surety bond placements for clients. Negotiate terms and conditions, ensuring the most favourable outcomes for both the client and the company.

4.          Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities. Utilise this knowledge to develop effective business strategies as agreed in collaboration with the wider team.

5.          Sales Targets: Meet and exceed sales targets, contributing to the company's growth and success.

6.          Networking: Represent Phillips Schroeder Surety Limited at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions. Leverage these opportunities to expand the company's presence and acquire new business leads.

7.          Client Relationship Management: Provide ongoing support to existing clients, ensuring their needs are met and addressing any concerns or inquiries promptly.

8.          Compliance: Adhere to all regulatory requirements and industry standards, maintaining the highest level of ethical conduct and professionalism.

Requirements:

•           Proven track record in business development and sales, preferably in the surety industry, financial services or insurance sector.

•           Knowledge of surety bonds and related products is highly advantageous.

•           Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.

•           Excellent relationship-building skills, fostering trust and confidence with clients and underwriters.

•           Results-driven mindset, with a focus on achieving and exceeding sales targets.

•           Self-motivated and proactive approach to work, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. 

•           Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.

•           Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
