Job Description

Posted on: July 8, 2026

We are adding a Junior BI Analyst to our team to help us organize and interpret data for our current projects. Our client is a Paris based logistics firm that needs better visibility into their shipping and warehouse operations. You will help us take their raw data and turn it into clear reports that the client can use to make practical decisions about their daily work. This is a fully remote position where you will work closely with our senior developers to bridge the gap between technical databases and business needs. About Pixel Systems Pixel Systems is a small, remote software agency that builds the tools teams actually use. We do not do flashy consumer apps or marketing sites. Instead, we focus on the practical stuff: admin panels, CRM integrations, and the database migrations that people usually try to avoid. Our clients come to us when they need to replace a sprawling spreadsheet with a real database or get their different software tools to finally talk to one another. We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. Our approach is straightforward. We provide fixed quotes before we start, we do weekly demos, and we hand over everything, the code, the documentation, and even walkthrough videos, when we are finished. We use reliable, well-tested technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be stable and easy to maintain. The Role In this role, your main task is to help our clients understand their own information. You will spend a lot of your day working with data sources to ensure they are accurate and consistent. For the project with our Paris client, this means identifying where data is missing in their shipping logs and creating dashboards that show real-time stock levels. This is a 100 percent remote role, so you will communicate primarily through documentation, chat, and video calls. Your work will involve:

  • Extracting data from various databases and third-party software tools.
  • Cleaning and formatting data so it can be used for reporting.
  • Building and maintaining dashboards that track specific business goals.
  • Writing simple scripts or queries to move data between systems.
  • Checking for errors or inconsistencies in client databases.
  • Explaining what the data means to people who are not technical.
  • Helping the engineering team understand how a client uses their data.

What you bring We are looking for someone who is organized and enjoys the process of turning a mess of numbers into something orderly. You do not need to be an expert yet, but you should be comfortable working with numbers and logic. Being able to explain your findings in plain English is more important than knowing high-level theory. You should be someone who values accuracy and is okay with spending time on the small details that make a database reliable. Basic requirements include:

  • A foundational understanding of how databases are structured.
  • Capability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Logic-based problem-solving skills for troubleshooting data errors.
  • Comfortable communication skills for explaining reports to clients.
  • Persistence when it comes to finding the source of a data mismatch.
  • Basic knowledge of spreadsheets and how to manipulate data within them.

Helpful background There are several tools and skills that will help you in this role. If you have any experience with the following, it is worth mentioning, but we are primarily looking for your ability to learn and adapt:

  • Basic SQL knowledge for writing queries.
  • Experience with manual data entry or data cleaning projects.
  • Exposure to BI tools like Metabase, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • An interest in how logistics or supply chain companies operate.
  • Familiarity with Postgres or other relational databases.
  • A basic understanding of how APIs work to move data.

Working at Pixel Systems Working here is different from a typical corporate job. We are a small, flat team with no layers of management between you and the work. This is a fully remote role where we trust you to get your tasks done without someone looking over your shoulder. We value clarity and honesty. The position is a full-time, permanent role and the pay is competitive for the entry-level market. You will be part of a team that cares more about good code and clear data than about chasing the latest trends. We are a senior team of developers and designers who prefer solving real operational headaches. When something breaks, we are the ones who answer the phone and fix it. You will learn how to build systems that people rely on every single day. We keep our processes simple and our communication direct, ensuring that we ship work that actually helps people like warehouse managers and operations teams do their jobs better.
