Job Description

Posted on: August 18, 2025

Qiri.ai is building the Knowledge Twin, a Thinking OS that acts as a personal second brain. It remembers, reasons, adapts, and explains, helping people and organisations make better decisions with transparency, privacy, and trust.

We’re an early-stage, pre-seed startup pushing the boundaries of AI + human cognition. Our mission is bold: to create personal AI that doesn’t just answer, but thinks with you and for you.

The Role

We are looking for a Cognitive Scientist / Psychologist to help us bridge human thinking and AI design. You’ll work alongside AI engineers and product designers to model how humans:

  • process information,
  • remember and forget,
  • make decisions (with all the biases and heuristics),
  • and adapt to new knowledge over time.

Your insights will directly shape how the Knowledge Twin stores memory, reasons contextually, and interacts with users in ways that feel natural, trustworthy, and human-like.

Responsibility:

  • Design frameworks for memory, reasoning, and decision-making that reflect real human cognition.
  • Translate psychological & cognitive science insights into product requirements and AI behaviour models.
  • Collaborate with AI engineers on integrating human-like bias-awareness, learning, and adaptation.
  • Conduct user research to understand how people engage with a digital “thinking partner.”
  • Help define trust, transparency, and ethical interaction principles in the product.

What we are looking for

  • Advanced degree (Master's/PhD) in Cognitive Science, Psychology, Behavioural Science, or related field.
  • Strong grasp of decision-making, memory, cognitive biases, and human-computer interaction.
  • Ability to translate theory into practical frameworks for product and AI systems.
  • Curiosity, creativity, and excitement about building the next generation of AI companions.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience with AI/ML, HCI, or knowledge management systems.
  • Research in areas like cognitive architectures, behaviour modelling, or adaptive learning systems.
  • Prior work with startups or fast-paced product teams.

Why Join Us:

  • Opportunity to shape the core cognitive model of a product category we’re defining: the Thinking OS.
  • Work with a small, ambitious team at the frontier of AI + human behaviour.
  • Early-stage equity in a high-growth startup.
  • Flexible, collaborative, and mission-driven culture.
