Job Description

Posted on: June 12, 2026

Company Description Studio Ridge Residential is an interior design and interior architecture firm specializing in residential, commercial, hospitality, and renovation projects, including showhomes and heavy/mass timber structures. The studio creates memorable, nature-connected spaces that emphasize wood as a sustainable building material and are designed to endure for generations. Its portfolio spans private residences, hospitality spaces, and mixed-use and multifamily developments across North America and beyond. Studio Ridge Residential offers a full-service, turnkey approach, from conceptual development and material sourcing to construction documentation and curated furnishings, art, and accessories. This integrated process is designed to simplify projects for clients and deliver cohesive, move-in-ready environments. Role Description This is a full-time, remote Interior Designer role with Studio Ridge Residential. The Interior Designer will collaborate with project teams and clients to develop design concepts that align with project goals, site context, and functional requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include space planning, drafting and refining interior layouts, and preparing design presentations, mood boards, and material palettes. The role involves producing and coordinating construction drawings, interior details, and specifications for finishes, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), with a strong emphasis on wood, heavy timber, and mass timber applications where relevant. The Interior Designer will also support product sourcing, vendor coordination, and documentation of furnishings, art, and accessories for turnkey installations, while managing timelines, communicating progress, and participating in virtual client and consultant meetings. Qualifications

  • Strong Interior Design skills, including concept development, material selection, and detailed design for residential and hospitality projects.
  • Proficiency in Space Planning to create functional, efficient, and aesthetically aligned layouts for a variety of project types.
  • Experience with Architecture and interior architecture coordination, including collaboration with architects, engineers, and contractors.
  • Ability to produce clear, accurate Construction Drawings, interior details, and specifications suitable for permitting and construction.
  • Knowledge of FF&E selection, sourcing, and documentation, including furnishings, finishes, lighting, art, and accessories.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard design and documentation software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar; Adobe Creative Suite an asset).
  • Strong visual communication skills, including presentation layouts, mood boards, and digital or hand sketching.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with experience managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Diploma or degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field; relevant professional experience in residential or hospitality design is preferred.
