Freelance Textile Designer

This role focuses on developing original textile prints and surface patterns for apparel collections, including t-shirts, hoodies, and jackets. Drawing inspiration from South Asian heritage and luxury streetwear aesthetics, you will collaborate closely to create unique, culturally resonant designs that stand out in the market. The ideal candidate is passionate about cultural storytelling and understands the nuances of contemporary streetwear, delivering creative yet commercially viable artwork for a growing fashion startup. Deliverables

• Develop original repeat patterns, placement prints, and embroidery concepts for apparel
• Create print-ready artwork files suitable for production
• Collaborate on mood boards and design direction based on brand vision
• Translate cultural references and heritage motifs into modern, wearable designs
• Ensure all designs align with luxury streetwear trends and commercial requirements
• Revise and refine artwork based on feedback to achieve final approval

Requirements

• Strong portfolio showcasing textile or surface pattern design, ideally with cultural or streetwear influences
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and other relevant design tools
• Understanding of print production processes and file preparation for apparel
• Ability to interpret cultural themes and translate them into contemporary design concepts
• Excellent communication skills and openness to feedback
• Detail-oriented, organized, and able to meet deadlines
