At VoiceOut, we’re making mental health support more engaging and accessible through AI pet interactions and evidence-based approaches like DBT and CBT. We’re a small, passionate team looking for a Lab Director to help us bring AI-driven mental health care to life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Psychology or a related field
• Research or lab experience in psychology
• Strong logical thinking and writing skills
• Passion for mental health technology and the energy of a startup environment
• Proficient in Chinese as a professional working languageWhat You Will Do

• Conduct research on psychological topics to inform meaningful, user-centered content
• Analyze and synthesize findings from academic literature to translate complex theories into accessible, engaging materials
• Write scripts and educational content that are evidence-based, intellectually rigorous, and emotionally resonant

This role is unpaid for now, and we want to be open about that. Everyone on our team — including us — is contributing as a volunteer because we believe in what we’re building together.

Each person may have their own reason for joining, but what connects us is the shared effort to move this product forward. If you join, we’ll be happy to provide volunteer certification — typically around 15 hours per week, adjusted to your schedule. More importantly, you’ll be part of a team that supports one another and keeps pushing ahead, even when things feel uncertain.
