She has been selected to attend the University of Kentucky AHEC Health Careers Camp, a prestigious Summer Enrichment Program. This two-week residential camp is designed for high school students passionate about pursuing careers in health, offering them a glimpse into college life and the healthcare profession.

A Deep Dive into Healthcare

During the camp, participants will live on the University of Kentucky campus, engaging in a rigorous schedule that includes:

• Lectures on various health topics
• Chemistry and biology labs for hands-on experience
• Observations of real healthcare professionals at work
• Direct learning from current UK students in medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and more

Unique Opportunities Await

One of the highlights includes clinical observation in the Minimally Invasive Surgery lab, where students can practice skills similar to those of surgical residents. Additionally, participants may earn their CPR certification and explore various clinical settings. The program also offers personalized meetings with the deans of each health college, providing invaluable insights rarely available to high school students.
