Junior Power BI Developer

A Typical Day Might Include

• Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports to support business and operational decision-making.
• Collaborating with project managers, business analysts, PMO professionals, and business stakeholders to gather reporting requirements.
• Transforming, cleansing, and validating data from multiple sources using Power Query and Power BI.
• Assisting in the design and implementation of data models, including relationships, measures, and calculated columns.
• Creating meaningful visualizations and interactive reports that provide clear business insights.
• Supporting the publication, sharing, and maintenance of reports and datasets within the Power BI Service environment.
• Working with Excel data sources and performing data analysis using advanced formulas and pivot tables.
• Monitoring report performance, troubleshooting data issues, and ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Applying data visualization best practices to improve report usability and user experience.
• Participating in team meetings, knowledge-sharing sessions, and continuous learning activities to develop Power BI and analytics skills.
• Supporting testing, user feedback sessions, and report enhancements based on business needs.
• Documenting report specifications, data definitions, and development processes.

To Ensure Success in This Role, You Need the Following Skills

• Basic to intermediate experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
• Completion of Power BI training and hands-on practice with report and dashboard development.
• Understanding of data modeling concepts, including facts, dimensions, relationships, and star schemas.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis techniques.
• Basic knowledge of Power Query and data transformation processes.
• Understanding of data visualization principles and dashboard design best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into effective reporting solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Advanced proficiency in both English and French.
