Project Manager
Job Description
Posted on: May 5, 2026
Carbon builds, operates, and transfers nearshore engineering hubs for global technology companies. Through our Build-Operate-Transfer model, we set up fully operational satellite offices in strategic European markets, run them on our clients' behalf, and transfer them to client ownership when they're ready to bring the hub in-house. We partner with venture-backed startups and established multinationals to extend their engineering capacity across software, design, product, and AI—without the overhead of standing up an international entity themselves.
Why Carbon?
The best engineering talent isn't always where you'd expect to find it. Some of Europe's strongest technical communities sit outside the obvious hubs—undervalued, underutilised, and ready to build. Our mission is to connect that talent to the companies who need it, through hubs our clients eventually own outright.
The Role
We're looking for a Project Manager with strong PMO and BOT experience, someone who not only leads projects but builds the structure that enables teams to execute consistently. You'll bring order to creative chaos, strengthen our delivery discipline, and ensure we're scaling with intention. You'll be the connector across teams, keeping initiatives on track, removing blockers, and turning plans into results. You'll help shape how we grow: running Build-Operate-Transfer engagements, scaling our partners' engineering teams, optimising operational workflows, and establishing PMO best practices that support predictable, high-quality delivery. This role suits someone who enjoys coordinating people, organising complex workflows, and building repeatable systems that turn ambition into measurable outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Take Ownership: Proactively drive Carbon's BOT projects forward, anticipating needs, making decisions, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks.
- Manage Projects End-to-End: Define goals, set timelines, assign responsibilities, and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule.
- Strengthen PMO Processes: Develop and refine standards, templates, reporting structures, and governance practices that elevate cross-team collaboration and operational consistency.
- Portfolio Oversight: Support prioritisation across multiple workstreams, help balance competing demands, and bring visibility into what's happening company-wide.
- Coordinate Across Teams: Keep cross-functional teams aligned and moving toward shared objectives.
- Drive Clarity: Communicate progress, updates, and priorities clearly to stakeholders, no surprises, no last-minute scrambles.
- Identify and Resolve Risks: Spot potential issues early, adapt quickly, and keep projects running smoothly.
- Improve How We Work: Implement and refine tools and processes that increase team efficiency, visibility, and collaboration.
What We’re Looking For
- Ownership Mindset: you take initiative and responsibility for outcomes, seeing projects through, even when challenges arise.
- Strong PMO Background: experience setting up or working within a PMO function, owning governance, reporting, planning cycles, and delivery standards.
- BOT Experience: hands-on experience with Build-Operate-Transfer engagements, including the setup, scaling, and transfer of nearshore engineering hubs to client partners.
- Experienced in Leading Projects: proven success driving initiatives across cross-functional teams from definition to delivery.
- Exceptionally Organized: you manage multiple priorities without losing sight of deadlines or results, keeping work structured even when things move fast.
- Strong, Direct Communicator: you know how to keep people aligned and informed, simplifying complexity without unnecessary noise.
- Grounded and Responsive: you adapt quickly to shifting priorities, staying composed and focused in dynamic environments.
- Comfortable with tools like Notion, Jira, Miro, or Todoist to keep projects organized, transparent, and running efficiently.
- Energized by Growth: you enjoy the pace and variety of startups, where new challenges appear often and progress happens fast.
What’s in It for You?
- A culture that values collaboration, curiosity, and genuine customer care.
- Competitive pay & benefits.
- Room to grow in a fast-moving company where your work has real impact.
- Fully remote—work from anywhere.
