Contract Technical Writer | Upto $45/hr Remote

• Position: Writing Expert – Freelance, Remote
• Commitment: ~20+ hours/week, Duration: ~2 weeks with potential for additional tasks
• Contribute to a high-impact AI research project. Author prompt–golden answer pairs to train and evaluate advanced language models.

Responsibilities

• Review provided PDFs and select appropriate content for prompt–answer generation.
• Write clear, accurate, and insightful golden answers aligned with project guidelines.
• Use Markdown for formatting; LaTeX preferred for technical content.
• Ensure all examples are original, relevant, and grounded in the source material.
• Collaborate asynchronously with Mercor’s support team for questions or feedback.

Requirements / QualificationsMust-Have Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD preferred) in humanities, education, STEM, or related fields.
• Strong writing skills and attention to detail across disciplines.
• Familiarity with Markdown (required) and LaTeX (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to understand and summarize complex content.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in prompt writing, technical editing, or curriculum design is a plus.

Engagement Details

• $45/hour
• Classified as an independent contractor
• Remote and asynchronous work
• Payments processed weekly via Stripe Connect
