About the Opportunity:
The APPEALS ASSISTANT role supports the appeals and claims resolution process to ensure timely and accurate submission and follow-up of appeals. This position is vital for coordinating documentation, communication, and tracking of appeals cases, directly impacting the efficiency and effectiveness of claims handling.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit appeal documents and claims materials to insurance providers and stakeholders
- Maintain organized records of appeals and related communications
- Coordinate with billing and claims teams to ensure proper documentation
- Follow up on pending appeals and communicate status updates
- Support reporting on appeals activity, trends, and outcomes
- Manage correspondence related to appeals
- Monitor deadlines to ensure timely submissions and follow-ups
- Provide administrative support to billing/claims and other departments as needed
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of administrative experience
- Preferred 1-2 years experience in healthcare billing or claims
- Proficient organizational and time-management skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and billing software
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
- $19.81 - $28.30 per hour
