Position Overview
The Program Manager, Collaboratives & Partnerships supports the day-to-day coordination and smooth operation of WHAM’s ecosystem of collaboratives and partners. This position focuses on program management, operational coordination, and stakeholder engagement across WHAM’s four collaboratives:
- The WHAM Research Collaborative – A network of researchers, clinicians and healthcare executives advancing women’s health research.
- The WHAM Innovator’s Circle – A group of leaders from women’s health-focused funds to catalyze early-stage innovation and forge strategic investment pathways.
- The WHAM Investment Collaborative – A coalition of investment leaders focused on increasing private investment in women’s health companies.
- The WHAM Life Sciences Collaborative – A group dedicated to integrating biological sex considerations into product development in the life sciences industry.
The Program Manager is responsible for helping to grow and sustain membership, fostering collaboration, tracking participation and follow-up, managing convenings and meetings, administering WHAM’s Edge Awards grant program and supporting the implementation of new initiatives to ensure the collaboratives remain impactful and effective.
This role reports to WHAM’s Chief of Staff & Strategic Partnerships and works closely with WHAM leadership, board members, partners, and external stakeholders to help carry forward established priorities and initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
This position plays a key role in supporting the coordination, engagement, and operational effectiveness of WHAM’s collaborative ecosystem.
Collaborative Program Operations
- Support the management, coordination, and growth of WHAM’s four Collaboratives
- Assist with the rollout of new collaborative initiatives and working groups
- Maintain collaborative communication tools and stakeholder engagement platforms
- Facilitate collaboration and information sharing across collaboratives
- Track relevant ecosystem updates to inform collaborative growth and future opportunities
Member & Stakeholder Engagement
- Track and manage relationships with 100+ collaborative members and partners
- Coordinate recruitment and onboarding of new collaborative members
- Build and maintain strong relationships with researchers, clinicians, investors, startups, and industry leaders
- Maintain records of external organizations and companies expressing interest in WHAM
- Provide high-level logistical and scheduling support across multiple stakeholders and time zones
Convenings & Board Management
- Plan and manage logistics for quarterly collaborative meetings and monthly advisory calls
- Develop agendas and distribute meeting materials and reminders
- Attend meetings and produce detailed minutes and high-level summaries
- Support preparation of materials for quarterly board meetings
Grants Management (WHAM Edge Awards)
- Administer WHAM’s Edge Awards program supporting early-career women’s health researchers
- Support development of funding announcements, guidelines, and evaluation criteria
- Review grant proposals for eligibility, completeness, and alignment with program goals
- Coordinate expert advisory councils and grant review panels, including scheduling, materials, and documentation
- Manage the full grant lifecycle, including award issuance, monitoring, and closeout
- Serve as the primary point of contact for grantees, providing guidance and technical assistance
Strategic Communication Support
- Support the Chief of Staff and CEO in preparing materials, presentations, and briefing documents
- Work with WHAM’s communications team to amplify key findings and member contribution
- Support WHAM’s communications team in developing program materials and securing speakers for annual digital and in-person events, like the WHAM Fall Forum
Research & Analysis Support
- Design, distribute, and analyze stakeholder surveys (e.g., Microsoft Forms)
- Conduct data validation and fact-checking for research outputs and public-facing materials
Qualifications
- Leadership experience in research, investment, life sciences or related fields
- Strong background in stakeholder engagement, membership growth, and partnership.
- Proven project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communications abilities.
- Ability to synthesize complex information for a range of audiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, life sciences, business, policy or related field (preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with investment firms, healthcare startups, or research institutions.
- Familiarity with economic impact analysis and the business case for investing in women’s health.
- Track record of securing sponsorships or building strategic partnerships.
Travel: Occasional travel for meetings and conferences.
Location: Remote
Compensation: $75,000–$100,000 annually. No benefits currently offered.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship.
