About the role
The Junior Digital Designer will work closely with the Studio Manager to drive awareness, engagement and conversion of our brands on digital platforms through innovative digital design programs. The role will be an integral contributor to the company’s success, maintaining close relationships with stakeholders across Directed, external parties and working cross functionally to provide support for the successful delivery of projects.
Meet your new team
As our Digital Designer, you will be joining our growing Digital & Marketing team, a fun, high energy team that plays an essential role in leading all the eCommerce, marketplaces, digital marketing, web development, branding and creative production activities at Directed. Owning the strategy and execution of the eCommerce, marketplace and digital marketing plan to drive sales, this team also conceptualises, creates and executes all design material to support business wide activity for all brands and divisions and drives engagement, efficiency and effectiveness by designing and project managing creative material suitable for a specific business purpose.
How you will make an impact
This newly created position will give you the opportunity to unleash your creative skills and drive engagement, and will see you:
- Design and conceptualise artwork for digital channels that achieves the brief and KPI’s, ensuring timelines and briefing requirements are met.
- Produce compelling visual assets including icons, illustrations, graphics, animations and motion design to align with brand identities and convey messaging effectively.
- Identify digital design trends and interpret these trends to ensure content delivers to tone of voice and brand style guide requirements.
- Create interactive prototypes or wireframes as required to communicate design concepts.
- Develop and maintain effective briefing documentation and cross functional processes to deliver content outputs effectively and efficiently.
The successful candidate
Our ideal candidate will be a creative, collaborative team player who can demonstrate:
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar digital design role, working within a fast-paced creative team to support content creation (design and copywriting) for different digital channels.
- Working on multiple design projects with cross functional teams, having delivered successful digital campaigns.
- An understanding of user centred design principles e.g. UI/UX principles and being an expert user of apps like the Adobe suite, Sketch or Figma.
- Actively participating across the creation lifecycle from briefing, designing, reviewing asset performance, to completing PIR’s to identify future improvement and learning opportunities.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and lead decision making.

This role will primarily be based onsite at our modern Tullamarine head office OR Richmond satellite office with flexibility for one day a week to work from home, offers a great salary package, the ability to make a visible difference and plenty of opportunities to further your skills and grow, all whilst being part of a supportive, and collegiate studio team.
