Business Development Representative ($85,000 OTE - Remote)About EdSights

We bring together the power of artificial intelligence and text messaging to solve Higher Education’s most challenging problems. Through an intelligent AI assistant, we support students over SMS and help them navigate college.

At EdSights, you’ll help build innovative technologies that create large-scale social impact. You’ll be part of a small, rapidly growing team at an exciting stage of growth. EdSights recently received a strategic investment of over $80 million from JMI Equity, following a Series A round of more than $8 million backed by Techstars, Album VC, Lakehouse VC, Dan Rosensweig (CEO of Chegg), Deborah Quazzo (GSV Ventures), Andy Dunn (Founder of Bonobos), Dave Gilboa (Co-Founder of Warby Parker), and Jenny Fleiss (Co-Founder of Rent the Runway).

About the Role

As a Business Development Representative, you should be a gritty, entrepreneurial, and intellectually curious person with a passion for sales and business development. You will take ownership of a territory, learn about your prospects’ strategic plans and help with the ideation and execution of outreach strategies. You will play a key role in the company's future and you'll get to do this while making an impact.

Earnings are uncapped and clear.

What You'll Do

  • Work with Partnership Directors to target, map, and develop prospecting strategies to drive new business opportunities within your territory
  • Execute daily prospecting activities via phone, email, and social to set introductory meetings with prospective customers
  • Tweak, develop, and strategize messaging and positioning to maximize outcomes of prospecting efforts
  • Come up with your own creative strategies (e.g. email drip campaigns) to build new relationships with prospects
  • Understand Institution's unique challenges, goals, and gaps
  • Be a thought leader with industry knowledge who is able to provide perspective on the value EdSights provides

Bonus Skills (Not Required)

  • Knowledge of the Higher Education Industry
  • 0-2 years of sales experience in B2B sales (preferred)

Compensation & Benefits

  • $70,000 Base Salary
  • $85,000 On Target Earnings (Year 1 OTE)
