The Opportunity

We are seeking a motivated Business Development Manager (BDM) to drive growth in the Australian market. This is a contractor role with a performance-based earnings model, suited to someone who thrives on independence, flexibility, and building client relationships. We welcome applications from recent graduates as well.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and generate new business opportunities across SMBs, recruitment, and nonprofit sectors.
  • Manage the sales cycle from prospecting and outreach to proposal and deal closure.
  • Build and maintain long-term client and partner relationships.
  • Collaborate with our consulting team to align sales with delivery capabilities.
  • Represent Ornella Solutions professionally in all market interactions.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development, B2B sales, or client relationship management (consulting, SaaS background ideal).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and networking skills.
  • Self-driven, organised, and able to work independently as a remote contractor.
  • ABN holder and comfortable working on a commission-only basis.
  • Existing networks in SMBs, nonprofit or staffing sectors a plus.
