The Opportunity
As a Pricing Analyst, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our pricing models are accurate, competitive, and aligned with our portfolio growth and profitability objectives. You’ll work closely with the Head of Pricing and collaborate across departments to provide insights, manage rating structures, develop tools, and make strategic pricing recommendations.
This is a role for someone who enjoys a balance of technical modelling, creative thinking, and business impact.
Location Flexibility:
This position is open to applicants based anywhere in Australia. Remote working arrangements are available, and we’ll work with you to ensure strong connection with our Brisbane-based team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with technical pricing reviews and portfolio optimisation
- Conduct statistical modelling and performance analysis
- Report monthly on pricing impacts, market trends, and performance vs forecast
- Develop and enhance reporting tools, dashboards, and statistical data structures
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and smarter segmentation
- Communicate insights clearly to stakeholders across the business
About You
You are passionate about data and pricing, with a background in insurance, analytics or a related technical field. You bring curiosity, precision, and a commercial mindset.
You’ll ideally have:
- Tertiary qualifications in mathematics, statistics, geospatial science or similar
- Prior experience in general insurance pricing or analytics
- Some experience of Geographic Information Systems, or geospatial software would be preferred
- Knowledge and interest in natural perils and pricing for climate risk
- Skills in Excel, Power BI, SQL and statistical software (e.g. R, Python, SAS, SPSS)
- Knowledge of GLMs, time series, or decision trees
- Familiarity with actuarial or rating software and geospatial systems
- Clear communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A drive to deliver results and continually improve
