About The Company
BJAK was founded in 2019 with a simple belief: people deserve smarter ways to plan, save, and grow their money. The company began by building a mobile-first insurance platform that made insurance accessible online to millions of people across Southeast Asia. Today, BJAK is the region’s leading insurance platform and is expanding its services to help customers make more of their money every day.
As BJAK grows, its products are expanding into areas such as spending, saving, investing, exchanging, and travel. Our international teams include more than 20 nationalities, working from offices and remotely. We are looking for thoughtful, driven people who care about building useful products, challenging the status quo, and making better financial applications accessible to more people.
About The Role
BJAK is seeking a Full Stack Engineer to help build and improve our AI neobank app. This is a hands-on, product-focused role for an engineer who can work across frontend experiences, backend services, APIs, databases, and internal tools. You will help turn product ideas and customer needs into reliable, easy-to-use features.
The right candidate is comfortable moving between different parts of a product, making progress when requirements are not fully defined, and taking responsibility for outcomes. You will work closely with product, design, mobile, backend, and AI teams to deliver new capabilities, learn from their performance, and make improvements after launch.
Qualifications
Candidates should have strong full stack engineering experience and a record of contributing to products or systems that have been shipped to real users. You should be comfortable working across frontend and backend development, APIs, databases, integrations, and production debugging.
Experience building modern frontend applications with React, Next.js, Vue, or a similar framework is valuable. You should also have sound backend fundamentals, including API design, data modeling, authentication, and reliability. Strong product judgment, clear communication in English, and the ability to simplify complex workflows are important for success in this role.
Applicants must already be based in Australia. This is a remote position hired specifically for the Australian market. Candidates should be prepared to discuss concrete examples of products, platforms, or systems they personally helped build, launch, or scale.
Responsibilities
Build, test, and ship end-to-end product features across frontend applications, backend services, APIs, and databases. Create and improve customer and internal workflows that may support onboarding, accounts, payments, rewards, travel, foreign exchange, customer support automation, identity verification, and risk operations.
Translate ambiguous product challenges into practical systems with clear user experiences and dependable backend logic. Partner with product, design, mobile, backend, and AI colleagues to deliver features and refine them based on results and feedback. Develop internal tools and automation that reduce manual effort and help teams operate effectively as the business grows.
Take ownership beyond release by monitoring performance, investigating issues, supporting production systems, and making improvements. Consider both customer experience and operational impact when making technical decisions.
Benefits
Join an international, product-focused team building financial services for customers across the region. The role offers the opportunity to contribute across multiple layers of a growing product, work closely with cross-functional colleagues, and take meaningful ownership from idea through launch and ongoing improvement. The position is remote for candidates based in Australia.
Equal Opportunity
BJAK welcomes applications from talented and driven people of diverse backgrounds. We value different perspectives and seek colleagues who are committed to building accessible, useful financial products. Candidates are considered based on their skills, experience, and ability to contribute to the role.
